Collection: Textures of the Sea is a sculptural paper couture collection created for the Official Opening of Malta Fashion Week 2026. Inspired by movement, marine textures, and sustainable craftsmanship, the collection pushes paper beyond traditional folding techniques into fluid contemporary silhouettes through innovative weaving, manipulation, and couture construction.
Designer: James Dimech is a Maltese paper artist and designer transforming paper into wearable couture through innovative folding techniques and sustainable materials. An architect by profession, he has exhibited internationally, taught paper manipulation in Malta and Italy, and continues to redefine the relationship between fashion, art, and craftsmanship.
