Malta Fashion Week 2026 Opens with a Spectacular Celebration of Fashion and Creativity

Malta Fashion Week 2026 officially commenced with an unforgettable opening night, bringing together leading designers, international guests, and fashion enthusiasts for an evening celebrating creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation. The first day set the tone for an exciting week of runway presentations, highlighting both established names and emerging talent while reinforcing Malta's growing reputation on the international fashion scene.

James Dimech – Textures of the Sea

Opening Malta Fashion Week 2026 was Maltese paper artist and designer James Dimech, whose collection Textures of the Sea transformed paper into sculptural couture. Inspired by the movement and textures of the sea, the collection showcased innovative folding, weaving, and sustainable craftsmanship, blurring the boundaries between fashion, architecture, and art.

Oana x Queen's Lane Couture – Divinity in Motion

Designer Oana Bonta presented Divinity in Motion, a collection celebrating the balance between femininity and strength. Through elegant silhouettes, luxurious textures, and refined detailing, the collection embodied confidence, sophistication, and modern glamour.

Unikimono – UNIKIMONO

Designer J. Aki Navarro introduced Unikimono's latest collection of versatile unisex cover-ups inspired by the bohemian spirit of Tulum, Mediterranean influences, and Malta's coastal identity. Crafted from exceptionally comfortable fabrics and featuring tribal geometric motifs, the collection embraced effortless style, versatility, and contemporary craftsmanship.

Vanusia Hair Design

Closing the evening, award-winning hairstylist Vanusia Mifsud Vella redefined creative expression by transforming hair extensions into wearable fashion pieces. Combining hair with fabric, the collection showcased sculptural garments that challenged conventional design while celebrating innovation and artistry.

The Celebration Continued

Following the runway shows, guests gathered for the official Campari After Party, where the celebrations continued into the night. Sponsored by Campari and featuring music by Vibe FM's DJ Deji, the after-party brought together designers, models, industry professionals, media, and guests to celebrate the successful opening of Malta Fashion Week 2026 in a vibrant and unforgettable atmosphere.
